Specs alone don’t guarantee results. What matters is whether it stays cool when the heat rises, holds frame rates when games become demanding, and performs consistently when switching from work to entertainment. Lenovo’s Legion 5i Gen 10 ($1,499.99 in our Walmart-specific test model; otherwise starting at $1,559.99) hits that sweet spot in our review configuration, pairing an Intel Core i7-14700HX CPU with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 GPU. Its standout OLED display makes a compelling case for spending a bit more all on its own, delivering visual quality tough to match at this price. Aided by frequent sales—Lenovo often sells it for well below list price; ditto for this Walmart-exclusive build—the Legion 5i is a well-rounded performer with few compromises. It earns our Editors' Choice award for midrange gaming laptops . Positioned above budget gaming fare like the Lenovo LOQ 15 , the Legion 5i offers premium features such as an OLED screen, a multi-zone RGB-lit keyboard, and enthusiast-grade graphics silicon. Lenovo has done quite well with their Legion line of gaming laptops for several years now. Their focus on simple yet purposeful design, better value, and impressive and reliable performance has helped position themselves as one of today’s top gaming laptop brands. I’ve reviewed a couple of these modern Legion laptops over the past few years and on both occasions I found myself surprised and impressed. This time, I got to take a look at the new 10th generation Lenovo Legion 5 (15IRX10-83LY003FPH) . This model is a little bit more than just a refresh of last year’s Legion 5. While it keeps the same Intel Core i7-14700HX processor, it now comes with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 GPU as well as a new design, among other things. Here are the specifications of the Legion Legion 5 (15IRX10-83LY003FPH): Display: 15.1″ WQXGA (2560×1600) OLED 500nits glossy, 100% DCI-P3, 165Hz, Dolby Vision, DisplayHDR™ True Black 600 Connectivity: Wi-Fi 7, 802.11be 2×2 + Bluetooth 5.4 Dimensions: 344.9 x 255.35 x 19.95-21.54 mm This spec sheet will cost you PHP 133,995 , which is a bit higher than last year’s model with an RTX 4070 and an IPS display. Another model of the Legion 15IRX10 will also be available in the Philippines, which has an RTX 5060 instead of a 5070, making it slightly more affordable at PHP 114,995 . If you’d like to upgrade the new Legion 5, there’s an additional M.2 NVMe SSD slot inside the laptop that supports both 2242 and 2280 size M.2 SSDs. The laptop also supports up to 32GB of DDR5-4800 SO-DIMM RAM so there’s also some room to upgrade there. As previously mentioned, the design of the new Legion 5 has a few differences from last year’s model and the one I reviewed a few years ago. While some of the changes are quite welcome, a few were a tad disappointing to see. The overall design of the new Legion 5 is much simpler than its predecessors, with fewer embellishments and sharp angles.
